Here's what happened:
A few months before the race I bought a bike, my first road bike, and started training to participate in a competition. I read many sites and magazines about triathlon, I've already run and finished competitions in distances like 5km,10km and 21km. With the knowledge I got, I prepared my training plan, running and biking at the streets, about 04:30 am, and swimming at the pool on my building and at the sea.
I felt great, thought that it was the best thing I've ever done. But the closer the competition I was getting a bit nervous, many things started to frighten me.
I put my self together, finish my training and the day of the race was there.
It was well organized the check-in, and it was a friendly atmosphere, I made some friends there, every one had a tip to give.
I didn't have triathlon clothes, I used my speedo to swim. When I started swimming I panicked with all the people swimming around, I thought I would drown but after a few minutes I got calm and finished the swim.
I was almost dead when I started the bike, the sun was high and with no winds, the sensation was warmer than really was. I made an easy race with not much speed but consistent, at the end I remembered that I haven't run yet.
I love to run, for me it's natural, I'm not fast, but I enjoy it anyway. At the beginning my legs felt like two pieces of stone, but with time the muscles got loose and I made my run, at this time Ipassed many competitors.
I finished with the total time 1h:44m:14s, It was my first triathlon, I loved it, I'll never forget the great experience it was. And I won a medal for finish into the limit time 1h:45m.
Would I recommend this race?
Friendly atmosphere, great job of the organization. I recommend to everyone, with no restrictions.
