Welcome to Intelligent Triathlon Talk.

This is a special issue about our winter training camps in Lanzarote.

Age Group Camps In Lanzarote

When And Where

16th January – 23rd January 2016

13th February to 20th February 2016

These camps are aimed at Age Group athletes who want to get some quality winter training done, in a comprehensively coached environment.

We will be based at the Sands Beach Resort on the Canary Island of Lanzarote and using the fantastic facilities provided by them including:

  • 8 lane 25m pool no more than a stones throw from your room
  • Extensive gym and training equipment
  • Full board with an athlete-centric buffet three times a day
  • Trails for running on out the front door
  • Superb winter climate for training

Head Coach Mark Pearce, will be running all the camps. He has worked with and coached a wide variety of athletes from Olympians to 70.3 Pros, AG winners, and AG competitors wanting to improve their own performance.

Mark will be leading all the sessions and providing on-going feedback and support throughout the camp.

Having travelled to camps all around the world for over 10 years in his role with British Triathlon, coach Mark knows a thing or two about how to run a successful camp, and the best places to visit.

What's Involved

These camps aren’t just about training. We will work with each of you individually to ensure the training is appropriate to your needs, and provide coaching in all sessions where appropriate.

In particular one of our areas of expertise is working with athletes to improve their technical abilities in all three disciplines. All sessions will be managed to each athletes’ ability. Some may be very challenging but we will always be supporting you in these sessions.

A typical training week will consist of multiple sessions per day and across swim, bike run and strength and conditioning. Some of these will be focused upon training, others tailored towards recovery, or technical development.

If your experience/fitness enables you to do more than others we will be able to facilitate this. Similarly if the programme is a step up for you, then we can help to adjust it so it works for you.

Having attended our camp you will undoubtedly come home having learned a lot about the sport of triathlon and how to get the most from your training at home.

We will also be delivering several short seminars in the evenings on a variety of topics from training methods, nutrition for training, how to use technology, feedback on technical sessions.

Nutrition and Conditioning Included

In a unique camp experience all of our camps will be supported by nutritionist Kurt Bergin-Taylor, who will be helping you to get the most out of your training and recovery.

Included as part of the package will be a FREE 30 minute individual consultation with Kurt for you to cover any personal nutrition related questions or issues you may have.

In addition he will be on hand to answer questions and support your sessions as we go through the week.

We will also have a personal trainer on hand in elite triathlete Katie Synge, to work through specific gym conditioning programmes with you. Katie will also lead group conditioning sessions during the camp.

There will be additional time available for a 30 minute individual session with her included FREE in the package price.

Both Kurt and Katie will be in many of the training sessions alongside you, supporting and helping make your time with us the best possible experience.

Price for camps: £875

This includes:

  • All coaching
  • Training facilities
  • Meals (breakfast, lunch and dinner)
  • Accommodation (based on 2 sharing)
  • Transfers in Lanzarote
  • 30 minute individual nutrition consultation
  • 30 minute individual strength and conditioning consultation

A 50% non refundable deposit is required upon booking. The balance is due 6 weeks before your camp begins.

There is a 7.5% discount if the camp is paid in full at time of booking (non refundable).
